Being an former-athletic guy, who probably wouldn’t have done yoga, this was a great way into it. Overall, this program is fantastic for anyone. The 10 second pushups aren’t fun but it feels great once you’re done with them. Diamond Cutter – Difficulty = 9, Enjoyment = 6 – This one would be better, but I felt like it just drags on too much (and the side plank version they do is awkward). The first couple of times may be tough, and the arm-back-taint-move can still be awkward, but this one is the best.ĥ. The 42 minutes flies by and you always feel great when you’re done. It seems to move at a quick pace, doesn’t waste time, and benefits your whole body. Strength Builder – Difficulty = 8, Enjoyment = 9 – This is favorite workout. With someone with the leg issue, it’s nice to get strength, but I feel like it stresses too much on certain things. Below the Bet – Difficulty = 7, Enjoyment = 2 – This is probably my least favorite workout, even with the lovely Brittney. It’s got a little bit of all the basic stuff, is only 10 minutes longer than energy, and you feel like you still achieve something (by the end, Energy felt like a waste of time).ģ. Fat Burner – Difficulty = 4, Enjoyment = 7 – This is my go-to of the easy workouts. After a while you will feel yourself cutting this out because it’s too easy and just too much of the same old.Ģ. Energy – Difficulty = 2, Enjoyment = 5 – This workout is the nice basic beginner workout. I will include both difficulty and enjoyablility.ġ. Here are the exercises I included into my routine. Sometimes I skipped some workouts (generally only Energy) if I were to do some other form of physical activity. In this google doc, I tracked my daily weight and which workout I was going to do. Thus, I really pushed myself to do it every day and ramped up on difficulty. Oh, and you pee constantly, but it’s flushing all of the bad stuff out.Īs far as the program, the basic and intermediate plan seemed too easy to me after the first couple of weeks. You go to bed 5 pounds heavier but wake up losing weight. Any time I found my weight stalling out it was because I wasn’t consuming enough water. Drink more water than you normally would. I contribute that to soda the most, to be honest.ģ. As someone with mild Crohn’s, my symptoms have become non-existent. This has helped so much it’s not even funny. On the cheat day, you can allow yourself to go a little crazy, but don’t push it too far for the sake of pushing it too far.Ģ. I also allowed a cheat day every other Saturday as that seemed to break plateaus. I tried to stick with low carb as much as possible, but didn’t fret if I had some. I generally tried to stick to approximately 2000 calories a day. I lost 4 inches off my waist and am generally much more flexible overall.ġ. I still have some sciatic pain, and still am missing some flexibility and strength, but overall I’m much better off.Īs of this morning, I’m down to 220 pounds, and feeling much better. This program helped me quite a bit however it’s not a cure all. Now, after the sciatic issues, and spasms in my left leg, I lost a lot of flexibility and strength. I’m 6’2” and have generally been fairly athletic. A friend recommended DDPY, as well as seeing Arthur’s video on Youtube, I decided to give it a shot. It was easily the most miserable five days of my life.Īfter little to no progress over the next 3 months or so, I decided to do something about it. This is coming from someone who ran 3.5 miles the night before. On Thanksgiving 2015, my back (sciatic nerve) really started to hurt through the day, and by the end of the day I could barely walk. I wanted to share some of the things I’ve learned so that it helps people decide whether it’s a good option for them, or maybe help modify the program to better suit them.įirst off, I want to give some background on why I started. Hello, my name is James and I am finishing 13 weeks of DDPY.
